The thing I like the best about The Apparition by Dominic A. Bianco is that you can relate so well to the character Angelo and what he is going through in his day to day life. I love that it starts out with just this average guy who is trying to get through school and figure out what he is going to do with himself and make of his life, balancing out friends and family, having a secret crush on the beautiful girl in town, dealing with his own insecurities, they are all things I think a lot of not only young teenagers but adults as well are going to find familiar when reading this book. If that isn't enough he gets this super power thrust upon him and he has to figure out the best way to now manage that and interweave it in to his life.If you are at all like me and love the Superhero craze that has taken over recently then you are going to love having this new one to root for, I found myself actually cheering him on while reading, I couldn't wait to find out when the villain would strike next or how Angelo would react and would he be able to protect the ones he loves by controlling his new found super powers. I also love the mystery in the book, the villain is not initially revealed and I couldn't stop myself from compiling evidence against characters trying to figure out who it was! The romance also makes a nice touch for ladies who are reading the book as well.
Overall I highly recommend this book! I am very picky about books I read and often have a hard time finding ones I really like, I heard about this one through a friend and decided to give in a try and I am so glad I have. I rave about it to friends and family and insist they order a copy as well. I hope you all find yourselves as immersed as I was in the plot and remember to 'be a hero'!

I really lked this book. I kept thinking I had the answers to the plot and then eveything would change
I really loved this storyline! To me, it was more than just a superhero tale. The main character was a hero before he developed super powers. He was a good kid, with wonderful family values and great loyalty to his friends. So many teenagers could identify with Angelo's life struggles, and I loved that Angelo is such a positive inspirational character. I also loved the way the author, Dominic Bianco, gave Angelo his superpowers. Very imaginative. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.!
I received a signed copy of The Apparition for Christmas and began reading it immediately. I finished it within two days and could barely put it down when I had the time to pick it up and read it. Not your-average super hero story for sure! I'm looking forward to the next installment of this saga. I rated this five stars because I thought it was a great read and I enjoyed the character development throughout the book. Definitely purchasing Rising Son!
It's okay if you like basic stories with a simple plot that you can easily follow and can forgive a few major plot holes.
The Apparition is a book that involves suspense, adventure, family and good morals. With every page you really get a good sense of how the main character Angelo is feeling throughout the journey of his new abilities. You can relate to his relationships with his friends and family and really understand his struggles with his new found secret. The adventures and challenges that Angelo is faced with throughout the book is a real nail bitter. While reading it you almost start to think of what you would do if you were in the same situations that Angelo is faced with. The ending of the book gives enough information to feel at ease, but leaves you in suspense to want to find out more of his story and what else will happen to Angelo and his loved ones. I cannot wait to read the second book to this trilogy.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The author created a story about a common high school student who is humble yet powerful enough to battle with evil. The plot has clear dilemmas and descriptive details to make the reader feel like they are in the shoes of Angelo Drake. I looked forward to reading this book everyday during my leisure time, because I enjoyed the development of the characters and depth of the plot. I can also reassure that this is not "just an action book"; there is plenty of clear decisive thoughts and interesting social situations that are written in this story. I would recommend this book to any reader who enjoys well written action plots with thought stimulating social situations and interesting twists.
Pittsburgh will never be the same now that The Apparition has arrived! This teen/YA novel is fast-paced and kept me engaged and reading. It is told from the perspective of the protagonist, a Pittsburgh-native coffee shop employee, Angelo Drake, turned superhero! If you ever fantasized about being a superhero and helping save people, this quick read is sure to satisfy. And if you’ve ever been to Kennywood, then you absolutely have to check it out!
